Overview
Write a persuasive piece / op-ed article. It can be on any topic you wish.
This piece can take on whatever tone you feel is appropriate for the audience you are trying to speak to: You can use humor, anger, sarcasm, or some other emotion if you wish. It can be written in the form of a newspaper opinion piece, it can be first-person, it can be more casual. Do remember that whatever your opinion is or whatever it is you are convincing the audience to do, believe in it fully and write like you believe it fully. Don't waffle.
If you need to cite facts or statistics, try to weave the attribution into the sentence (for example: "According to Such-and-Such...." or " .... says blah blah in the Whatever Acclaimed Source Here.") instead of using parenthetical citations or academic-style citations. Your piece should be at least 600 words (longer is fine).
In addition to writing your piece, you must also:
- Write a headline for your piece. Keep your headline to no more than 100 characters.
- Write a meta headline / SEO headline for your piece. Keep in mind proper keyword use and the best use of that headline. This should also be no more than 100 characters.
- Write a summary of your piece that could serve as a meta description. This summary should be no more than 40 words. It doesn't have to feel robotic, but it should give people a good idea of what they're about to read and shouldn't just be a repeat of the headline.
- Find an image to go with your post (something you would include in the "featured image" section if you were posting this on a blog or content management system). It can be a stock photo or even an illustration or graphic (if you feel that is more appropriate for your post). Images generated by AI are OK too as long as you properly acknowledge that it was AI-generated. Include the credit for your photo.
