Overview
This essay encourages students to explore another culture that is different to their own. This is achieved through
reading about the chosen culture, as well as by conducting and critically analyzing one interview with an
individual from the chosen culture.
Each student will interview one individual (e.g. from a country other than their own), listen and take notes on
what they are told. The student will then analyze this new knowledge through the lens of Hofstede’s cultural
dimensions framework to understand cultural nuances.
In doing so, the student will reflect on the parallels and differences between theirs and this other culture,
drawing inference from key concepts, theories, and frameworks covered on the course.
