Overview
This reflection is a chance for you to reflect on your process of composing your web article for Unit 3. Note that the reflection is a significant part of your grade for the web article project, as described on the assignment sheet. Therefore, you should take the time to think carefully about what you learned and submit a polished, revised text.
In this 350-500 word reflection, you should address the topics I’ve included below. You do not need to answer every single question listed below. Instead, look over the questions below, come up with a few main ideas that you want to focus on in your reflection, and develop those main ideas into paragraphs with details and examples. You must discuss each of the four categories of ideas below--but not each guiding question in each category. You may also discuss the ideas in any order that best helps you express your main ideas.
- Discuss the specific rhetorical situation of your Unit 3 text (in other words, the audience, purpose, and genre). For example, you could consider the following:
- What is your specific purpose and who is your specific audience for your unit 3 project?
- Why did you feel that this purpose and audience made sense, given the research results you are communicating?
- How did the genre assigned impact how you communicated your message?
- Discuss your design choices for your Unit 3 text.
- In what ways did you incorporate visual elements, and in what ways are these design choices effective for your audience and/or purpose? Here, you might discuss your use of graphics, photographs, colors, font style, font size, or other visual elements.
- In what ways did you consider your audience’s reading experience when designing your unit 3 project? Here, you might discuss spacing, layout, structure, and/or organization.
- In what ways were your design choices influenced by the particular genre in which you were working?
- What ethos do you want to communicate to your audience, and how do your design choices support this? For instance, do your design choices show that you are professional? Friendly and approachable? Educated and informed? Something else?
- In what ways did getting feedback from your professor and peer help you in this area?
- Discuss the way you integrated research into your Unit 3 Text.
- In what specific way(s) did you incorporate hyperlinks into your Unit 3 project? How did you decide what information to hyperlink? What impact do you think this has on your audience’s reading experience? How do the hyperlinks help to bolster your credibility as a researcher and writer?
- In what ways did getting feedback from your professor and peer help you in this area?
- Explain how your research process continued as you crafted your Unit 3 Project. For example, did you discover knowledge "gaps" that you needed to resolve? Are there ideas and conclusions you ended up including in your web article that you did not anticipate when you first started the research process? Did you have any early ideas that ended up being challenged and/or proven inaccurate by your research?
- Discuss ways in which you used GAI.
- How did using Generative AI (GAI) impact your research process? Reflect on how GAI helped you brainstorm ideas, generate outlines, or refine your thesis. Were there parts of the process where it was especially beneficial?
- What specific tasks or challenges in your writing did GAI assist you with most effectively? Consider areas like organizing information, improving clarity, or finding alternative ways to present your arguments.
- How did you ensure the information generated by GAI was accurate, relevant, and properly cited? Reflect on the steps you took to verify the content, avoid plagiarism, and integrate AI-generated material into your own work ethically.
- In what ways did GAI influence your writing style, voice, or creativity? Consider if and how using GAI helped you develop your personal voice or if it introduced perspectives you might not have considered on your own.

- What did you learn about yourself and your own writing process as you completed this project?

- In what specific ways was composing this research-based web article different from writing a traditional research paper?
