Please submit a one-page Letter of Interest (approximately 500 words) describing your motivation for applying to the SDICCCA Fellows Program. This program is designed to support graduate students committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) who aspire to become community college educators, librarians, counselors, or higher education leaders.
In your letter, please address the following:
Personal and Professional Motivation Why are you interested in becoming a community college teacher, librarian, counselor, or higher education leader?
What experiences have shaped your interest in serving diverse student populations?
Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) How have your life experiences, values, or academic/professional background informed your understanding of DEIA?
How do you plan to promote equity and inclusion in your future role in higher education?
Career Goals and Program Fit How does participation in the SDICCCA Fellows Program align with your educational and professional goals?
What do you hope to gain from this fellowship experience?
Mentorship and Growth Reflect on what kind of mentorship or professional development you are seeking through this program.
Your letter should be professional, well-organized, and demonstrate your genuine interest in advancing equity and excellence in the California Community College system.
