Week 8 - Assignment: A Course Overview, The Last Eight Weeks
Instructions
Assignment DirectionsThis assignment assesses CO-1, CO-2, CO-3, CO-4, CO-5, CO-6, CO-7, CO-8.
Starting in Week One, I would like you to each work on a journal for that week. Each week (1-8), you will document the following.
1. Identify and journal what lesson/discussion stood out to you the most in that week (what was your major takeaway?). 2. After identifying an area of interest, take the time during that week to implement the tactics and methods you chose. 3. Evaluate how well you thought you performed the tactics/methods. 4. Document any observable outcome or changes. 5. Identify any variables that you feel would have changed the outcomes.
This will make your Week Eight Paper a breeze if you document each week with the above analysis. A good method would be to write each week on a WORD document (attached to this assignment) and save it as, i.e., Week 1 Analysis, Week 2 Analysis, etc. Place each one of these in a folder and save.
NOTE: We are also going to integrate AI to help us construct the paper. Do not use AI to write your paper! The AI checker will flag it, so let’s not go there. Instead, once you have all your weekly documents written, you can combine them into one document and ask AI to help you format and add the references to your paper. Attached is a list of AI tools that have been helpful to students.
Two documents will be turned in for this assignment. The first document will be the rough draft (really just a copy of your weekly papers in one paper without the title page, narrative style of writing, and a reference page).
Your second document will be the finalized copy that you used AI to help format; It will have a title page, introduction, narrative content for each week, a conclusion, and finally a reference page done in APA format, 7th Edition.
Here is an example of what your Week 1 notes might look like (this is laid out in the note taking guide):
- Takeaway—You realize you have some barriers to communication
- Implementation – You decide to try and eliminate them.
- Evaluation – How well did you do when you removed some barriers?
- Documentation – What were some of the changes you observed?
- Variables – Did you have any variables in the conversations and reactions that occurred?
- Conclusion – In Week X, I enjoyed/disliked/struggled/excelled/learned
- References – List the references you used or viewed
Then go and write a narrative version about week 1:
During week one, the most important lesson that stood out to me was "Barriers to Communication". I realized that I have several barriers to communication.
This is still a research paper, but it gives you the "opportunity" to get practical experience utilizing, observing, and improving human relations. It will also teach you how to use AI ethically as you continue your academic career.
I hope that you enjoy it!
