instructions
A mind map can be an effective strategy to help students/clients develop solutions to their problems. A mind map is essentially a brainstorming graphic organizer. Select a topic or problem that you are currently grappling with and complete a Solution Mind Mapping Activity as you would encourage a student to.
Step 1: State your miracle at the center of the mind map.
Step 2: From the center, create branches of solutions that can make your miracle happen.
Step 3: Finally, explore the solution options and discuss feasibility, timeliness, potential barriers (and ways to overcome), and resources needed.
You can submit your Solution Mind Mapping Activity in any appropriate format (.doc, .pdf, .png, .jpg, etc).
SECOND ASSIGNMENT
Instructions
Select a topic/problem that you are currently grappling with and complete the strengths finder activity.
Step 1: Complete a brief self-reflection on the following prompt: Think of a time in your life when you felt the strongest. What strengths were present when things were going well?
Step 2: Ask 1 or 2 people who are important in your life to describe how they view your strengths. Record those after your self-reflection.
Step 3: Write a reflective statement on how the responses to step 1 and step 2 are similar/different. You may consider the following questions:
- What do you notice about what is similar?
- What do you notice about what is different?
- Are there any patterns that you are noticing?
- What does the comparison tell you about yourself?
Submit your Strengths Finder Activity in an appropriate format here.
