Overview
This is a PowerPoint Presentation Assignment. The organization that you I chose is Autism Society of America –
Tidewater Virginia Affiliate as shown in the attached previous Powerpoint that you made.
- Summarize your previous findings (introduction to your client, the situation/issue). In other words, what does your client do, and why? What are the challenges they face from the situation in which they operate? What are their goals to meet those challenges? Remember that goals are not mission; goals are specifically what they need to do to achieve that mission.
- Drawing on 5 sources (at least 2 scholarly) that add to what you did in the previous assignment attached here (do not repeat sources, although you can use sources that you cited in your activities), discuss three stakeholders that you believe are key to your organization’s success (I suggest specific types of people who might be likely to donate or volunteer or partner with your client). What do they want? Design a graphical stakeholder comparison (branded to your client, just like the PowerPoint deck) in which you compare their demographics (who are they?), psychographics (what do they want, what motivates them, what are their barriers?), and behaviors (what do they like to do? What do they have to do (obligations)? What media do they use/enjoy?). This should be specific to the region if possible, but you should also address broader trends. For instance, what demographics are likely to donate or volunteer? How about for your specific cause? If you’re looking at Black Professional Millennials, as one example, then you would want to have research on professionals, the Black community/communities, and millennials.
- Perform a SWOT analysis of your organization’s Facebook or Instagram page compared to another organization of your choice through the perspective of one of the stakeholders listed above. Remember that SWOT is from the perspective of the stakeholder! (see Module 3)
- Write a proposal for primary multi-method research (minimum 2 methods) for your client.
- Provide 2 stakeholder-specific research questions for each method, making sure they are suitable for that type of method.
- Discuss the sample you are targeting and how you anticipate getting that sample.
- Explain what you hope to discover through each method.
- Create and explain the approach you will take to the method (e.g., provide the questions for a survey, an interview guide for a focus group, a coding scheme for a content analysis, etc.). Depending on the methods you chose, you should include a minimum of 10 non-demographic questions for a survey, 5 questions with 2 follow-up questions each for an interview or focus group, four themes with examples of how that theme might be found (preferably by looking at a text) for a textual analysis, and/or 25 codes for a content analysis or discourse analysis.
- Cite your sources, in text and in bibliography, using Chicago 16th author-date format.
