Overview

Falesto, Kayla (2) 1.docx

This is the doc which needs the a few corrections and 3-5 pages of the research that was done

The Results section is where you report the findings for each hypothesis and/or research question. The Discussion section is where you compare your study’s results to what was found in the research you cited in your Literature Review, identify any limitations your study had, and discuss opportunities for future research on your topic. Repeating your in-text citations in the Discussion section is required. This second paper should be 14 to 20 pages long, not including the Title Page, References section, or appendices. Write this in past tense.

Make sure your (A) Literature Review lead to your hypotheses and/or research questions, (B) hypotheses and/or research questions include clear independent and dependent variables, (C) independent and dependent variables lead to your method design and data collection instruments, (D) hypotheses and/or research questions organize your Results section, and (E) hypotheses and/or research questions organize your Discussion section.

Includes:

1. a title page (corrected)

2. on a new page, an Abstract

3. on a new page, a ¾-page introduction (corrected)

4. continuing after the introduction (not on a new page), a 6 to 8 page Literature Review (corrected)

5. continuing after the Literature Review (not on a new page), a ¾-page list of at least 3 research questions and/or hypotheses (corrected)

o including each independent variable (corrected)

o including each dependent variable (corrected)

6. continuing after hypotheses or research questions (not on a new page), a 1- to 3-page Method section, including:

o a paragraph describing sample, the population the sample represents, and how:

o a paragraph describing data collection instrument(s), including how they connect to independent and dependent variables

7. continuing after the Method section (not on a new page), a 2- to 4-page Results section, including:

o a clinical and objective report of findings (i.e., do not include “you” here), with at least a paragraph each per hypothesis and/or research question

o for quantitative studies, a lot of numbers (e.g., “65% of respondents…”)

8. continuing after the Results section (not on a new page), a 3- to 5-page Discussion section, including:

o a comparison between what was found in previous research (i.e., the studies cited in Literature Review, cited again) and this study’s results, with at least a paragraph each per hypothesis and/or research question

o an explanation using theory of why this study’s results were similar or different from results found in previous research

§ for quantitative studies, not a lot of numbers (e.g., “a majority of respondents…”)

o a “so what?” explanation for what people in general can learn from your study

o an explanation of limitations that might explain findings (e.g., if only college students were sampled)

§ Note: Every study ever created has had limitations; this is a required section, not an admission of wrongdoing

o an explanation of opportunities for future research about topic

9. on a new page, a 2-page References section (corrected)

10. on a new page, at least one Appendix including blank copy of data collection instrument(s)
