I would like to focus on unsafe and high-pressure working conditions in Amazon warehouses, including issues such as unrealistic productivity quotas, faulty equipment, and safety hazards that can lead to injuries.
For my solution, I plan to discuss improving workplace safety through stricter enforcement of regulations, better equipment maintenance, and more realistic productivity expectations.

Your speech MUST be a social problem, meaning it must have a possible solution you can discuss. For example, why plastic straws are bad for the environment has many solutions. Why Nike is better than Adidas does not have a solution, so it will not be allowed. You can see more information about the speech below (Please note: Your speeches ARE NOT due this week, just your topic. Your speeches will be due the last week of school I want you to have more time to prepare, research, and practice.)
The third speech for this course is a persuasive speech that will identify a particular social problem of concern to the speaker and offer a solution to that problem. The general topic should focus on a social or political problem of significance to the general public but you must remember to adapt the presentation to the classroom audience. There are many possible variations on this theme of a “social problem,” and it might be focused at the university, local, state, federal, or even global level. The format for this third speech will also follow the general format of explaining a social problem (broadly construed) and offering a particular solution to it. Seek to change the audience’s attitudes, beliefs, or values, or refute opposing views on the topic. You may use any of the speech organization structures discussed in class, but the design should (as always) complement both your topic and your method of presenting and resolving the problem.
As soon as you get permission for your topic and as soon as your informative speech is done, I recommend you get started. Your Persuasive Speech is not due until the last week of the course, but please give yourself plenty of time to get started.
Speech Length: 6-8 minutes.
Sources: The speech must cite at least 5 different sources during the course of the presentation, and these must also be listed in the bibliography attached to your preparation outline. You must use reputable sources such as newspapers, online journal articles, magazines, documentaries, etc. Essentially, no randomly googled sources. 4 of your 5 sources must be online resources from our school library.
