Background
In your lesson this week, you were re-introduced to California Assembly Bill 2508. As you read through this lecture, look at how this bill aligns with the ASCA National Model's four components: define, manage, deliver, and assess.
The intent of the Bill is to revise the definition of educational counseling. This Bill urges School District Governing Boards to provide all students with access to comprehensive educational counseling programs and impacts the evolution of the school counselor role:
(1) Engage with, advocate for, and provide both of the following services for all pupils:
(A) Direct services, including, but not limited to, individual counseling, group counseling, risk assessment, crisis response, and instructional services, including, but not limited to, mental health, behavioral, academic, and postsecondary educational services.
(B) Indirect services, including, but not limited to, positive school climate strategies, teacher and parent consultations, and referrals to public and private community services.
(2) Plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive school counseling programs.

Instructions
This activity will be your signature assignment (an infographic) that focuses on delivering responsive services and your imagination for refining mental health services for specialized groups of students. The infographic will be an accumulation of your assignments from the previous activities in Modules 1-3. You will extend the activities in this infographic by adding activities to an intervention plan that supports students from historically underserved populations (e.g., Asian and Pacific Islander, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Latin@, LGBQ, Transgender, students experiencing homelessness, and/or students experiences poverty, etc.) You will continue to focus on the same group you selected for the previous assignments. For this infographic, you will evaluate current perceptions and trends in the community that tend to impede inclusive practices. You will create a presentation that includes a variety of intervention strategies and frameworks for educating the community on the value of embracing inclusivity and SEL strategies for meeting the unique needs of the specialized individual/ group you have selected, and you will demonstrate how SEL and responsive services are vital for trauma-informed care practices.
Utilizing a design tool such as Piktochart, Canva, Google Sites, etc., your presentation will be a creative, well-organized, and engaging 3-page infographic. Plus, a reference page (4 pages). Your infographic must be parent/teacher/community college personnel friendly and include all of the following:

- One on cultural competency, and
- One on LGBTQIA+ issues
- Cite 3 references of evidence-based best practices found on the CASEL: What Does the Research Say? website.
- Key vocabulary or defined terms discussed in the talk/lecture/or presentation that is important for an audience to know and remember (use visuals and text).

- Provide a brief summary of your social-emotional learning lesson from the Module 1 Assignment. You will inform your audience how this lesson is relevant to cultural competency.
- Include 3 at-home activities to extend this SEL lesson at home or in the community. This will need to be developmental age-appropriate, is this extension for a child or an adult?
- Provide a brief overview of the ASCA Student Standards: Mindsets and Behaviors and explain the SEL activities align with these standards.

- Summarize AB 2508 for the audience and present the vital role of school counseling in mental health services.
- At least 3 key ideas of how educational policy affects, influences, and impacts the roles of the school or college counselor for SEL responsive services.
- In Module 3, you were asked to start the process of analyzing data to create responsive services. You utilized the ASCA National Model as a guide for delivering services (Direct and Indirect). In that assignment, you set your intervention goal. In this infographic section, include the goal-setting and planning ideas you completed in the Module 3 Assignment. Help the audience “reimagine” mental health services for your selected specialized group.
