Question 7

Steven Wilson and colleagues (2015) sought to better understand this dilemma by studying how family members of U.S. military service members returning home from Iraq or Afghanistan navigate conversations about mental illness. After reading hypothetical scenarios in which a service member showed signs of mental illness (e.g., having mood swings, being anxious and withdrawn), 80 family members were asked to write what they would say to try to convince the service member to seek help, what goals they were trying to achieve, and what barriers they might face in trying to have a conversation.

Wilson et al. (2015) identified four dilemmas for having mental health-related conversations with a family member. List these dilemmas and mention the page number you found the answer.
