Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read all required articles and Internet sources this week. You will review the five pillars of health informatics introduced in HIA601 and conduct library, peer-reviewed research on your pillar of interest. Likewise, review IDNs in the U.S., as defined in HIA608, and determine the main challenges faced by these provider-insurance entities. You will then construct a presentation demonstrating your rationale for choosing this pillar for your Capstone Final Project and your innovative strategy for using data assets and informatics tools and methods for your Capstone Final Project.
Create a PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes that critically address each of the following elements (Remember that your presentation slides should have short bullet-pointed text with the bulk of the information below included in your speaker notes):
- Explain your rationale for choosing your selected pillar.
- Explain your strategy for using data assets and informatics tools and methods.
- Describe a hypothetical integrated delivery network for delivering your informatics solutions.
- Describe the provider and insurance components for the delivery network, including
- Their region of the U.S. and their environment including the main internal and external stakeholders;
- Their responsibility to the community; and
- The main challenges facing the organization today and in the next five years, including any cultural, social, legal, and health care policy-related forces that would impact health care decision-making.
