INSTRUCTIONS
1.Introduction: Presentation gives you an opportunity to speak out in public. This assignment is to help you gain experiences of it.
Economic geography investigates economic activities across locations in space. Your topic of presentation should be related to this theme. You can refer to the syllabus to find the topics we cover. For example, to name a few, your presentation can be on one of the following topics: production, consumption, international trade and finance, economic development, impacts on environment from economic activities, etc. It can be based on a research paper or a case study.
2.Scheduling:
Each presenter has 10-15 minutes to present your work and 5 minutes for Q&A. Your presentation slides can be in PPT or PDF format.
3.Grading:
a)Grading: We will use a peer grading system, which gives you the opportunity to critically evaluate your peer’s work to gain more insights of the topics and presentation skills. Your grade of will be based on the average of the grades given by other students and the instructor.
b)Grading scale: For a total of 100 points,
i.Topic is related to economic geography: 30 points
ii.Presentation slides are properly formated and not jammed with words: 20 points
iii.Presentation clearly discusses an issue/question/phenomenon and the concluding remarks are logically developed: 40 points
iv.Presentation is professionally conducted: 10 points
