Overview
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Please use 12-point font size, double spaced, and limit the length of your paper between seven to ten pages.
2.Total: 100 points.
3.Your research paper can be related to your own major but certainly should be focused on one of the topics covered in the course.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with experience of designing a research study and writing a research paper. It encourages you to gain an in-depth understanding of some topics and to critically think how you can contribute to the field. The benefits are both academic and professional.
4.In general, a research paper explains why and how a study is to be conducted. Specifically, your research paper should include the following sections:
a)Introduction. In this part, you should address what your research topic and question are, review what current literature has done, and explain why your topic is important and what your objectives are.
b)Research method. In this part, you should discuss the method that you use to conduct your research.
c)Conclusion. It summarizes the main conclusions and findings obtained from your research and briefly describes possible extensions to your research.
d)References. You should properly include a section of references or works cited in your research paper.
5.Grading. Each of the following criteria is worth 20 points. A successful research paper should have:
a)an organized and cohesive literature review;
b)a clear research hypothesis or question;
c)a logical account of the method or experiment used;
d)contributions to the field of economic geography;
e)adherence to the formatting guidelines laid out above.
