Overview
I am enrolled in a Master’s‑level Economics course and have been assigned an academic report titled:
“How do FMCG companies estimate demand in emerging markets where data is scarce and consumer preferences are rapidly evolving?”
As a team, we have agreed to use China as the primary case study, due to its fast‑moving FMCG sector, short product life cycles, evolving consumer preferences, and strong digital data alternatives. However, I would like the tutor to first provide an expert opinion on whether China is the strongest academic choice or whether another emerging market (or a comparative approach) would lead to a higher‑quality, higher‑scoring submission, with a brief justification.
The final deliverable should be a well‑structured, Master’s‑level academic report that:
- Integrates economic theory with real‑world FMCG demand estimation practices
- Uses accurate and credible data sources only
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, not just descriptive writing
- Follows the required structure: Executive Summary, Introduction, Literature Review, Economic Analysis, Discussion & Findings, Conclusion & Recommendations, and References (APA/Harvard)
