Overview
The chart shows four tasks (A, B, C, D), their dependencies, their durations, and their respective budgets.
Assume that:
The numbers shown above are weeks (not days as labeled incorrectly). For example, Task A has a duration of 16-weeks at cost $54,000.
You monitor the progress of the project every 4-weeks, i.e. at the end of Week 4 (EoW#4), 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24.
a.(6pts) Compute the PROJECT BUDGET, aka PV at the EoW#4, #8, #12, #16, #20, #24.
Hints:
i.Assume that budget per week is proportional to the duration of a task. For example, the budget at the end of week 1 for Task A is 1/16 of $54,000.
ii.Your PV must be cumulative, i.e. at the end of the 24th week, the total budget should be $105,000
iii.You must explain your calculations/logic in this WORD file, at least for EoW#4 and EoW#8.
iv.You must enter these data to an Excel spreadsheet as the PV row (or column) – zero credit if not.
b.(5pts) Assume that the project was completed perfectly on-time. Compute the Earned Value at the EoW#4, #8, #12, #16, #20, #24, following the 50-50 rules.
Hints:
i.You must explain your calculations/logic in this WORD file, at least for EoW#4 and EoW#8.
ii.You must enter these data to an Excel spreadsheet as the EV50 row – zero credit if not.
c.(5pts) Compute the Earned Value at the EoW#4, #8, #12, #16, #20, #24, following the 0-100 rules.
Hints:
iii.You must explain your calculations/logic in this WORD file, at least for EoW#4 and EoW#8.
iv.You must enter these data to an Excel spreadsheet as the EV100 row (or column)
d.(9pts) Create a chart with the values of (a), (b) and (v). The horizontal axis must be the EoW#4, #8, #12, #16, #20, #24 weeks. This chart must be “cut-and-paste” in this WORD file.
