the basic elements that go into developing a security policy. Some of those factors include:
- Topic and reason for policy
- Scope of policy
- Responsibilities of various groups or individuals
- Compliance and consequences
Once you have chosen an organization, you should write an acceptable use policy for acceptable use of digital resources within that organization. That may include computer systems and networks, as well as other devices or resources. As you write this policy, consider the following:
- It should be no more than three pages in length (or shorter)
- It should include the elements above
- You should think about the specific characteristics of the organization that you choose and you should adapt some characteristics of the policy specifically to the culture of that organization.
