Assignment Topic:
To complete this capstone, you will develop a plan for a six sigma, department-level or process-level project of your choosing.
Setup instructions:
There are two supporting documents (attached) that are to be used as templates:
- Project Charter
- Team Charter
You will develop a plan for a six sigma project of your choosing. This should be a department or process level project.
Step 1) Create a charter for a your project that include all of the following:
- Problem statement: should be concise, clear and measurable.
- Business Case: Answer at least one question explaining why it is important.
- Goal Statement: Overall goal of the project (SMART)
- Improvement goals: At least two specific measures of success
- Process description
- Project scope: describe the specific boundaries of the project.
- Who are the key stakeholders?
- Who will the team members be? (at least 4)
- Create a timeline
Step 2) Create a charter for your project team
- Develop a set of expectations (with your team’s participation if possible).
Step 3) Create a data collection plan
- What will you measure?
- What is the data type?
Step 4) Execute the data collection plan
Step 5) Create a Process Map
Step 6) Write null and alternative hypotheses for each of the measures you proposed (before and after improvement).
Step 7) Analyze your data using appropriate statistical methods and other process analysis tools.
Step 8) Identify possible improvements and select one improvement
Step 9) Develop a control plan based on the improvement you selected
