Overview
Our group picked Absorption cooling membrane heat pump and Stirling refrigeration cycle To receive the full credit, each student needs to address the following. The grade will be given individually. (a) Working principle of the selected cooling approach, for example, absorption cooling, including how to calculate work or heat transfer in each process and coefficient of performance. (10pt) (b) Typical applications of the selected cooling approach, for example, absorption, and advantages and disadvantages over other alternatives (the ones that other group member selected, for examples, membrane heat pump, and solid state thermal electric cooling). Note that no input(s) from your group member(s) is provided, you can compare with the traditional vapor compression. (20pt) (c) Find and read 1 recent research paper or patent on the cooling system and describe what advancements was done in that investigation.
Project Report Format, and Submission Instruction A single electronic document file must be submitted via BlackBoard. Here is a general outline: • Cover page (1 page): o class name, student name, date, contribution. • Main body (page limit: 10 pages) o Working principle of the selected cooling approach o Typical applications of the selected cooling approach, for example, absorption, and advantages and disadvantages over other alternatives (the ones that other group member selected, for examples, membrane heat pump, and solid state thermal electric cooling) o Describe what advancements was done in that investigation • To receive full credit, the report should follow the required format: o Use letter size paper with the paper margin of 1 inch (top, bottom, and sides) o For the body text, use the font, Times New Roman, font size of 12 with single spacing o Section headings must be included by using the font Times New Roman, font size of 14 bold The project work and final report should be the original work performed by the student, and in order to check if there is plagiarism, the submitted MS Word (or pdf) will be submitted to the plagiarism checking service, so called, SafeAssign, (http://www.safeassign.com/). If the student work is associated with the plagiarism, no credit will be given to the project work based on the class policy.
