Overview
There are two types of solid waste - one of those is hazardous waste. The issue of waste and toxic chemicals applies to us and where we live. Use the EPA's Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Explorer's Geography search to investigate your own zip code/area to see what chemicals are being released. Choose one or two companies and explore their P2 Report (Pollution Prevention). Share what you learned with your classmates. Discuss the success of the EPA's Toxics Release Inventory and other regulations governing those chemicals.
