You may write your paper on any climate history-related topic. Examples of good topics include analysis of a particular climate feedback or a particular hypothesis about climate change through time on tectonic, orbital, millennial, century, decadal, or annual timescales. A more narrow topic is more likely to be successful than a broader one.
