Overview
Conduct research to find an area anywhere in the world that is experiencing issues with water scarcity.
- Provide a description of the location, reasons for the water shortage, and an explanation of the actions citizens and/or the government are taking to address the issue.
- Do you feel that access to fresh drinking water is a fundamental right which should be afforded to all people, or is it a commodity that is subject to the principles of economics? Explain your reasoning.
- Review Section 12.8: Sustainability Ethics (uploaded) in the textbook. Then comment on the ethics of sustainability as they relate to protecting and sharing natural capital on a global scale. What are some of the issues that make sharing natural capital, such as water, difficult?
