Overview
In at least five paragraphs, please identify and discuss how specific features of the built, social and physical urban environments can impact populations during natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, wildfires or earthquakes in urban areas globally. While you should go broad and consider a wide range of issues, be sure to discuss at least one issue from each environment (built, social, physical = for a total of 3 issues) in greater depth. You are required to use at least two professional sources outside of the lecture notes and at least one scholarly(peer reviewed) journal article to substantiate your ideas. Make sure you fully reference the article(s) (Author/Organization, title, date, journal name, volume, issue and year plus the URL) as well as any other sources using an established style guide (Chicago, APA, or MLA). Please use in-text citations for the professional and scholarly sources used and provide a complete bibliography including which lecture notes you used at the end.
