Overview
Review a film or articles on the Agricanto.org site. There might be a few opportunities to attend online webinars or zoom talks that go for more than 2 hours. If you attend one and write up a report, you can get 15 points extra credit. It must be an environmental “event” that is local. I post some of these for faculty at https://www.sustainablelaccd.net/newsletters--events.html (Links to an external site.).
A review is longer than 1 page but not longer than two pages. For a film, you need to pick one that can be seen online on YouTube or Netflix or Hulu or Amazon. https://www.agricanto.org/films.html (Links to an external site.) The links to the films in the Films tab of Agricanto are to IMDB data on the film and not the film itself. Most of these average 92 minutes in length. You review should show you saw the film but also what you learned from it. Did it tell you something new? Did it change your mind about something? Is it a good film (not all documentaries on environment are good).
In the case of Articles, you pick the Articles tab and see the headings for pages of articles. Some are re-formatted from the original (that has a link of the bottom of the PDF). https://www.agricanto.org/articles.html (Links to an external site.) Some are just links. Each column is stacked from most recent at the top of each column or its sub-heading. Pick two articles for a discussion that have something to do with each other whether complementary or not. Your review should also include what you thought about what your read.
Attending Events is also possible. Some of these are quite long. So you get 15 points extra credit for attending an event. These can be found of the Events page of the Sustainable Environment Institute of the LACCD (Links to an external site.)., Take screen shots, tell us who hosted and write up a summary as well as the screenshots that show you attended in full.
