PH 161 – Environment and Human Health
Short Paper - Assignment
As an introduction to the world of Environmental Health the short paper will be conducted on one of the historical leaders in environmental health. Choose ONE of the following, conduct research and write a summary of the individual’s life, their findings/research, and the overall impact on the environment and human health.
- Hippocrates
- Sir Percival Pott
- John Snow
- Other if approved by instructor
This research paper should include:
- Summary of the one selected individuals.
- What work they did.
- How this has impacted environmental and human health
Be sure to address all of the above items identified and any other pertinent information with regard to the individual or environmental health. Other criteria that will be using to grade the assignment:
- Length 400-500 words (do not to exceed 600)
- Correct APA paper formatting - This is also a link to resouces
- Please note a large percentage of this assignment is dedicated just to formatting. This is a time for you to learn and practice APA formatting for your term paper.
- Include a Title Page, Body, and Reference Page
- No Abstract Required
- Identification on which individual you are researching
- Thoroughness
- Use of appropriate references (Wiki is not an acceptable reference source)
- Reference count at least 3 (not including the textbook, Essentials of Environmental Health)
- At least one peer reviewed article
- How to search for a Peer Reviewed Journal Article
- ALL references must be from reputable sources. No Wikipedia or blogs etc.
- At least one peer reviewed article
- Research language, should be written in third person
