As you look for a specific topic, please keep the following parameters in mind:
Topic must be a real-world occurrence that happened or is happening at the local, state, national, or world level as it relates to community and environmental health
Topic must be specific and detailed (example: do not cover the broad subject of foodborne illnesses but rather pinpoint a specific foodborne illness that may have occurred in 2019 that may have affected a large population or choose to focus on a specific piece of legislature related to our food supply and why it occurred)
The real-world occurrence must have occurred within the past 120 years (be date specific) and can be a positive influence or a negative influence
As you write your essay, include responses to the following questions as it relates to the course goals as well as a formatted essay. You will have 6 paragraphs for this paper as follows:
- Give a brief introductory paragraph of your topic to introduce the readers to your paper. As you write, you can include statements such as “In this paper, I will present more information on [enter your subject.]” The introductory paragraph should not include too many specific details.
- What resources and agencies are currently associated with your topic of choice to influence positive change in the world today?
- What types of preventive measures and solutions have been or should be associated with your topic of choice to reduce health hazards?
What types of health risks have been or could be associated with your topic of choice?
Have humans played a role in your topic of choice (negative or positive)? If so, is this due to economics, the built-environment, population expansion or something else?
- Give a brief conclusion of your paper to wrap up for the reader what they just read. If you have a specific point you want to reiterate as to the importance of your topic, this would need to be included in this paragraph.
