Final Assignment
Write a short essay (500-700 words) addressing an environmental issue that is controversial or poorly understood.
- Present scientific information about a controversial or poorly understood environmental issue in a way that is accessible and understandable to the general public.
- Make a scientific argument that explains the issue, acknowledges any misinformation or controversy about the issue, and gives your reader a scientific basis for understanding or forming an opinion on the issue.
- Explain how this issue affects your reader, other people, and/or the environment.
Cite a minimum of 3 sources in your paper. (See below for requirements and guidance.)
- Do not quote your references directly. Paraphrase important ideas instead. This means reading a variety of references, deciding what ideas you want to share with your readers, expressing those ideas in your own words in a way that is relevant to your readers, and citing the source of the information.
- Be sure to list all cited references in your References section at the end of your paper. (Do not include References in word count.)
