Overview
This has to be an observation paper on a child, age 3-6. This may involve going down to the park or local library, or you may even just make it up. It also may be worth including what is noticed about Heinz's stages of moral of development and then talk about some child rearing aspects noticed in the parent-child relationship. Things such as where is the parent on a scale of warmth to coldness. Is the parent restrictive or permissive. Lastly, write about how the child is doing socially.
Some things to look for:
Does the child explore?
How close does the child stay to the mother?
How does the parent - child relationship seem?
What type of attachment do you think the child has with the parent?
How do you think this child feels about themselves?
How is the child's self-esteem?
How does the child interact with others?
How responsive is the parent - both verbally & non - verbally?
What happens during separation?
How does the child display or show emotions?
Does this child have empathy?
Is there mirroring?
How do you feel watching this child?
Based on your observation - make some predictions about the child's future.
