For this assignment, you will write an essay that incorporates the following elements:
Health effects of poor air quality:
- Discuss the health effects associated with poor air quality.
- Describe your personal experiences with poor air quality.
- Explain the significance of Figure 5-9 of the textbook, the chemical it analyzes, and how the chart progresses from 2,000,000 to 75?
Welfare effects of poor air quality:
- Assess welfare effects.
- Explain the chemicals and reactions that produce acid rain.
- Describe your personal experiences with welfare effects of air pollution.
- Using the values in Table 6.1 for 2015 and 2060, provide reasons for expected increases in two of the items in the table.
Your essay should flow smoothly from topic to topic with thoughtful transitions and section headings. Include a strong introduction. Your essay should be at least three pages in length. Support your essay using the textbook as a reference, the Unit III study guide as a reference, and at least one peer-reviewed article from the CSU Online Library. Articles from the last ten years are preferred. Feel free to also use other sources as references (this is not required). Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
Part 3
We covered a number of important concepts related to pollution prevention. For this assignment, you are asked to create a PowerPoint Presentation to present an overview of these main concepts at a webinar for a fictitious not-for-profit organization that promotes industrial process pollution prevention across the United States. You have agreed to help them.
Please create a presentation of at least 10 slides that cover the following main topics below.
- Explain the tenets of the Pollution Prevention Act.
- Discuss federal clean water, air, and waste laws pertaining to pollution prevention.
- Summarize the four phases of a pollution prevention audit.
- Describe how pollution prevention audits can assess pollutant source control in an organization/industrial facility.
- Explain the concept of Life Cycle Analysis and the value of understanding cradle to grave management of materials.
The slide count does not include the title slide or the reference slides. Your slides should utilize bullet points. Do not include full paragraphs of written text as this is not conducive to a good presentation. Please use the slide notes function on the slides to add supplementary notes and information that you would use to aid you in your presentation.
You must use at least two sources to support your presentation, one of which must come from the CSU Online Library. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment.
