3. e) Summary (20% of the grade). Each section must contain very specificcontent and adhere to length requirements. See instructions below and ask for further clarification if it isneeded.In the motivation section, the purpose of the project should be described and motivated based on studentunderstanding of the climate system gained in ATOC4870 and beyond. A specific research question or twomust be identified. The research question should answerable with the model simulations that you complete.The length of the motivation section should be 2-3 paragraphs. The research question should be clearlyidentified and be in bold typset.In the methods section, you should describe what model runs were done to address the research questionintroduced in the motivation section. The length of the methods section should be 2 paragraphs.In the results section, you should present the results from the model runs that were done using plots. Youshould also specifically answer the research question that were included in the motivation. A minimum oftwo plots is required, but up to four plots can be shown. All plots must have clearly labeled axis and contours,and include the units of the quantity being plotted. The results should demonstrate that you ran CESM withan advance beyond the tutorial presented in class (e.g., you added another output, you changed the forcing,you changed a boundary condition etc.). The report should contain at least one plot relevant to your projectmade from your CESM run. The report should also contain at least one plot based on the CESM LargeEnsemble. The length of the results section should be 3-5 paragraphs.In the discussion section, you should discuss the results in a broader context. What additional experimentswould be useful to further address the research question? The length of the discussion section should be 3-5 paragraphs.In the summary section, you should briefly summarize the entire project motivation, methods, results, anddiscussion. The length of the summary section should be 1-2 paragraphs.
