Overview
A 5-6 page research paper/film analysis (excluding bibliography). The standard is approximately 300 words per page or approximately 1,500-1,800 words total. The paper is to be typed, double-spaced, 12 pt font, with 1” margins in MS WORD (not Open Doc, PDF, or other). Papers not following this MLA format will be returned for reformatting and will be penalized by five points.
In this paper, you will develop a thesis related to La Femme Nikita:
(1) ONE aspect of the core theme from “The Outsider” or “The Stranger;”
(2) ONE aspect of your readings on Absurdism, Existentialism, Revolt, or a related philosophical concept; and
You are to focus mainly on the films themselves AND do more than just write superficial observations about how the film reflects the theme. Dig deeper to analyze the presence and use of the theme in your chosen film, and formulate a thesis / theory about this from your investigation. You are encouraged to integrate research resources, including books, articles and scholarly web materials, to inform your analysis, but the key is to DISSECT and ANALYZE your film
