TFM 160 Cinema as Art Narrative Structure Question

Overview

I’m working on a Film exercise and need support.

This My Movie Log journal requires viewing of Singin' in the Rain (1952).

Using the breakdown of “Narrative Structure” (and Figure 4.1 “Narrative Structure Schematic”) explored in your reading and reviewed in the Chapter 04 Lecture: “Narrative Structure”, briefly describe each of the following six key narrative movements for Singin' in the Rain:

  1. Normal World
  2. Catalyst/Inciting Incident
  3. Rising Action
  4. Crisis
  5. Climax
  6. Resolution

Structure your journal in the above order, and clearly label each of your narrative movements. Keep your descriptions/summaries within 2-3 sentences per narrative movement. You can summarize events – especially when describing your movie's Rising Action.
