Choose a reflexive film, or television show, that appeals to you – one NOT screened in class.
After introducing vital information about the film (year of release, stars, basic plot and genre elements), your paper should focus on a few key scenes that illustrate the film’s approach and attitude toward reflexivity. Address and describe details of film style, narrative and themes—all centered on how the film portrays some aspect of the film/television industry, whether production or reception.
You should also make some comparisons to topics and screenings from class, emphasizing how your film fits into the material and ideas we’ve covered.(Films from class: Timecode (Mike Figgis, 2000), Cameraperson (Kirsten Johnson, 2016): Once Upon a Time in Hollywood(Quentin Tarantino, 2019))
