San Diego State University Journey to the Moon Analysis

Overview

1. Write an analysis of a Single Scene in a film, linking that analysis to the text’s overall thematic content. Material for your analysis should be rooted in one of our course readings (Barsam and Monahan: First Two Chapters) and should include technical terminology in your discussion. Your goal is to make a concise argument about how form shapes our interpretation of an important theme in the text, and how that theme is significant to the text as a whole.
   1. please read the first two chapters of the book and relate them to the essay
2. Although a brief, contextual summary of the scene in question will no doubt be useful and a sense of the sequence of events and images that occur within will no doubt be necessary, please avoid merely retelling the story. Remember: since your readers have already read your selected text, your task is to persuade them that your interpretation of your chosen scene, theme, and the text as a whole, is correct.
