Overview
For this critical essay you are to take the Jordan Peele's film, NOPE, and write an analysis of the film within a historical context.
Focus on one or more of the following conceptual lenses in order to ground your analysis:
Your analysis should be lead by an inquiry into how this particular film explores film style and form in relation to the chosen heuristic(s). This might require you to look into the state of the film industry at the time of your film’s production, artist theories held by the filmmakers, pertinent technological features of the film’s production/exhibition, and/or the broader socio-economic conditions of the world at the time of the film’s making. A successful paper will synthesize a discussion of the film’s form with the conceptual/historical material presented in our course materials and found in your own research.

The paper should be about 6 pages (about 1,800 words). The paper must be (1) typed, double-spaced, in 12 point New Times Roman font; (2) Use a 1-inch margin all around, and number your pages; and (3) Use MLA-style citation (parenthetical reference to author's name and page number in text: For example (Bordwell 43).
