Overview
materialCreate Project & Import Media 1. In Resolve, create new project and name it PrimaryCC-FirstLast (eg. PrimaryCC AaronOwen). 2. Import supplied XML into media pool. 3. Import reference QuickTime to media pool as an o line reference clip. Ensure the imported clip has the checkerboard icon which means it is a reference clip, not a normal media clip. Check the conformed XML timeline using the o line reference 4. In the media pool, link the o line reference clip to the XML timeline. 5. In the edit page, check timeline against the linked o line reference. Be sure to check all cut points to make sure they match, as well as the clip itself. Placing the viewer into di erence mode is very helpful with this. 6. If there are any issues or places where cuts don’t match or if there are discrepancies with the o line clip, make the required changes in the timeline to fix the issues and match the DaVinci edit timeline to the reference. Color Balance Each Clip 7. Once the timeline has been correctly conformed to the o line reference, go to Resolve’s Color page. 8. Using only the linear Primary Color Wheel Controls, expand the dynamic range and balance each clip to remove any color casts in the shadows and highlights. Displaying the qualifier focus on the video scopes will help you to align the RGB channels to ensure “clean” blacks and whites. 9. When finished balancing all clips, grab a gallery still from the first frame of each clip. Export and Upload 10. Save your project and export from the project manager using the Export with Stills and LUTs command. 11. Upload to the D2L submission folder.
