MotionTrackerKeyframing

Overview

Create Project, Import Media & Create Timelines 1. In DaVinci Resolve, create new project and name it MotionTrackingShotMatching FirstLast (eg: MotionTracking-AaronOwen). 2. Import “01_FiveShotSequence.mov” into the media pool. 3. Ensure that 01_FiveShotSequence.mov’s reel name is 001. 4. Import the supplied .edl as a pre-conformed EDL. The result should be a timeline that contains 01_FiveShotSequence.mov cut up into shots. 5. Import 02_MotionTrackingClip.mov and 03_Switch_Flick.mov. 6. Select “02-MotionTrackingClip.mov” and create new timeline using selected clips; name the timeline “Motion Tracking”. 7. Select “03_Switch_Flick.mov” and create a new timeline using selected clips; name the timeline “Keyframing” Motion Tracking Repair 8. Open the Motion Tracking Repair timeline. Switch to the Color page and import the supplied DPX still into the gallery. 9. Apply grade from the still to the clip. Human skin tones should appear green. 10. On node 2, add an oval power window and place it over the little girl’s face, so only her face turns green. 11. Motion track the power window so it stays over the girl’s face while she walks through frame. Repair the keyframes such that the window stays in place when the people crossing in front obscure the object being tracked. Do not worry about the people who are crossing’s arms turning green when they walk in front of the girl and thus through the power window. Fixing this issue is beyond the scope of this assignment & course. We will live with this for now. 12. Once the window has been tracked and fixed, grab another still and label the still “Tracked Window”. Keyframing 13. Open the Keyframing timeline and switch to the Color page. 14. Find the frame where the light switch turns o the light. Add a static keyframe and drop the o set for all three channels to 5.00. When played back, the switch should now appear to “turn o the lights” in a more convincing fashion. Shot Matching 15. In the timeline named “FiveShotSequence” pick a hero shot to use as the master. Match the rest of the shots in the sequence to this master shot doing your best to be consistent across all shots. When you are done, the entire scene should contain the same look, with colors and exposure matching from shot to shot. 16. Create a new still gallery and name it “Backyard Scene”. 17. Grab all stills from first frame. Export & Submit 18. Export the project from the project manager with stills and LUTs. 19. Upload exported .drp file to D2L submission foldermaterial
