10 questions

Instructions: Please read everything carefully, I have attached my project to this. Here are the things my group would like to improve on (you need it for one of the questions). My group wants to improve by altering the pitch deck since it was too descriptive with too much info. We also will change the story to what the guests told us would work.

Ten Strategic Questions & Development Progress Report 3

This is the final “Ten Questions & Progress Report” assignment before your individual and your group’s final project materials are due next week.

This assignment is designed to help you refine your project, identify areas that need clarification, and organize your final week of development work.

Part 1: Ten Strategic Questions (Not Based on Readings)

Develop ten thoughtful questions that grow out of your ongoing project work.

These may relate to:

  • Story, character, theme, tone, or world-building
  • Structure and pacing in your pilot or feature script
  • Feedback or insights from your in-class presentation
  • Market positioning and international audience strategy
  • Genre, format, or platform considerations
  • Collaboration and workflow within your group

Do not base your questions on the assigned readings.

For each question, include a brief 1–2 sentence context statement explaining:

  • What prompted the question (presentation, feedback, creative challenges, group process, etc.)
  • Why the question matters for completing your final materials

Examples

    • How can we strengthen the emotional hook in the opening of our pilot/feature to better establish the series/film engine?
    • What additions to our show bible would clarify the season arc and long-term story potential?
    • What tonal references will help ensure our sizzle reel accurately represents the project?
    • How can we better articulate our project’s appeal for international markets in the pitch deck?
Part 2: Development Progress Report (1–2 Pages)

Reflect on your individual and group project development since presenting in class.

Your report should address the following:

A. Creative Development

    • What refinements or decisions have been made since your presentation?
    • What elements—story, world, characters, structure, tone—still need work?
    • What creative challenges remain?

B. Global Strategy Considerations

    • How are you positioning your project for international audiences or global markets?
    • Did presenting your concept highlight any strategic gaps you now need to address?
    • Which of your Ten Questions relate to global positioning or market understanding?

C. Group Dynamics & Workflow

    • How is your group coordinating the workload for next week’s submission?
    • What responsibilities have been assigned, and what needs clarification?
    • What collaboration strategies are working well?

D. Next Steps for Completing Final Deliverables

Provide a clear, actionable plan for the final week.
