Overview
For our Russian 2H03 final project, the main goal is to create a PPT-based presentation on this topic:
Sergei Eisenstein’s films: art or propaganda?
My role will mainly be voiceover / presentation delivery, so I need you to take the lead on the actual content and slides. I want to keep the task simple and clear.
What we need in the end:
- A complete PowerPoint
- Around 15 minutes total, maximum 20 minutes
- Slides should not be text-heavy
- Use mostly key points, film stills, posters, and a few short phrases
- Include a references section at the end
- A presentation outline / speaking notes
- Organized slide by slide
- Clear enough that I can basically read from it when recording
- Natural wording, not too formal or overly academic
Main content to include:
- Introduction
- Briefly explain who Eisenstein was
- Introduce our main question:
Should his films be understood mainly as art or propaganda?
- Battleship Potemkin
- Choose a few important scenes
- Briefly analyze montage, emotional impact, and artistic value
- Explain why it is often seen as a major artistic achievement
- October
- Choose a few important scenes
- Analyze how it presents revolution and political messaging
- Include some comparison with Battleship Potemkin
- Posters
- Choose 1–3 related posters
- Briefly analyze visual symbols, crowd imagery, and political meaning
- Conclusion
- Give a clear answer to the question
- Something like:
Eisenstein’s films are both art and propaganda, but the balance is different in each film
Most important course requirements:
- Use specific examples from the films and posters
- Do not just summarize; include actual analysis
- Keep the slides visually clear and not overloaded with text
- Add references at the end
- The presentation should show a real argument or point of view, not just background information
What I mainly need from you:
- the full PPT
- slide-by-slide speaking notes / outline
That way I can just follow the slides and use the notes to record my part. Maybe just add one poster at the end at the ppt. ThanksThank
