Glaciers leave a unique mark on the landscape, one that is very different from flowing water. If you can learn to recognize the following types of landforms, you will be able to determine if glaciers have helped to create the landscape you are walking in. Remember, glaciers were once more widespread than they are today, so seeing these landforms tells us where glaciers have been even after they have melted away.
