LAVC Geology Principles of Relative Dating Problem

Overview

I'm working on a geology writing question and need an explanation to help me learn.

Some hints:

  • On the first page, notice that the Visnu Schist is shaded darker around the Zoraster Granite. This indicates contact metamorphism.
  • Also on the first page, notice that layer M has "gravel." These are inclusions (clasts).
  • On the second page, rock A is a granite. Notice the contact metamorphism (darker shading) around most of A.
  • Rock E is also granite, but doesn't have any contact metamorphism around it.
  • Layers G, M, N, and F have inclusions (clasts).
  • H is a fault.
