Example
This is an example of a submission for this assignment with an emphasis on interpersonal wellness.
Yeung, J. W. K., Zhang, Z., & Kim, T. Y. (2017). Volunteering and health benefits in general adults: cumulative effects and forms. BMC Public Health, 18(1), 8.https://doi.org/10.1186/s12889-017-4561-8
This 2017 journal article discussed how other-oriented volunteering and self-oriented volunteering contributed to health outcomes such as mental and physical health, life satisfaction, social well-being and depression. Activities that can be classified under other-oriented volunteering include working and caring for the sick and disabled, while activities that can be classified under self-oriented volunteering include volunteering in programs that can help you develop your own skills. Not only does the research predict that volunteering contributes to the mentioned health outcomes, but also to self-esteem which is an essential component of interpersonal wellness and the growth of strong relationships. In the end, results supported the statement that volunteering has beneficial effects toward mental and physical health, life satisfaction, social well-being and depression. Furthermore, it was mentioned that other-oriented volunteering had the strongest effect toward social well-being, while self-oriented volunteering had the strongest effect towards physical health. This can be applicable to my final Dimensions of Wellness paper because social well-being and self-esteem, terms related to interpersonal wellness, benefit from volunteering.
