Review of Article

Overview

You are to write a draft about reviewing this article: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33006676/t

In the Review of Article (also known as the ROA), you will write a review of an academic article (linked up top) focusing on the limitations of the study on which the article is based. You will form some of your own opinions about the validity and value of your article, and those opinions will be supported by eight scholarly references.

The paper is primarily focused on three limitations of how the study was conducted, with suggested improvements to these limitations. This should NOT be a review of the subject that the article discusses. Your POV will pertain to your perceived limitations of how the study was performed.

The study was conducted using a cross-sectional, observational, and quantitative survey-based method. Researchers collected data from 125 cancer patients over one month using validated questionnaires (EORTC QLQ-C30 and FACIT-TS-G) along with additional COVID-19-specific questions to assess patient satisfaction and perceptions during the pandemic.

Some limitations that you might want to talk about are:

The authors note that the study's main limitation is its relatively small sample size and the single-center design, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Additionally, since participation was voluntary and not randomized, there is potential for selection bias. The study also lacks a pre-pandemic comparison group, making it difficult to fully isolate the impact of COVID-19 measures on patient satisfaction.

The draft must include:

    • Title page with Abstract
      • Abstract should be 250-300 words, single spaced
      • Include the word count of the abstract and body of the paper on the title page
      • Use the format in the model papers.
    • Body:
      • 1200-1250 words, double spaced
      • Use these headings: Introduction, Narrative, Conclusion, References
    • 8 supporting references listed on separate References page should be APA 7th edition format, double spaced, and cited in the text. (9 total, including the original article up for review)
      • Supporting articles must not be older than 10 years, unless you can justify why the particular older source must be used.
    • Page numbers in the upper right corner
