Overview of the Assignment
You must research your approved healthcare management topic (in your case: Cost Control Strategies in Healthcare Management), write a structured paper draft, and then present it in a 10-minute video using PowerPoint slides.
STEP 1: RESEARCH & STRUCTURED PAPER DRAFT
You need to write a formal draft following this structure:
1. Introduction
- Introduce your topic (cost control strategies in healthcare).
- Explain why it’s important in healthcare management.
- State your research question or main objective.
Example: “This project explores strategies used in healthcare facilities to control costs while maintaining quality care.”
2. Review of the Literature
- Summarize 3–5 peer-reviewed sources.
- Discuss what other researchers have said about cost control strategies.
- Show different points of view or findings (support or gaps in research).
Use APA format and cite each source properly.
3. Methods
- Explain how you conducted your research.
- Did you analyze previous studies?
- Did you use surveys, databases, or case studies?
- This section can be simpler since this is a literature-based project (no original experiment).
Example: “This research involved reviewing recent peer-reviewed studies published between 2020–2024.”
4. Results
- What did you find?
- Summarize key cost control methods (like telehealth, staffing models, electronic records, etc.).
- Mention important statistics, data, or trends from your research.
5. Conclusion
- Re-state your findings briefly.
- Explain the impact of your findings on healthcare management.
- Offer recommendations or ideas for future research.
6. References
- Include all sources in APA format.
- At least 5 sources from reliable journals or databases.
STEP 2: POWERPOINT + 10-MINUTE VIDEO PRESENTATION
Video Requirements
- Time: Must be 10 minutes (not shorter).
- Format: A video of you presenting, with your PowerPoint slides visible.
- Upload it to Canvas, not by email.
PowerPoint Slide Guidelines
- Use visuals, charts, and key bullet points.
- Do not fill slides with long text.
- Prepare around 10–12 slides:
- Title Slide (Your name + project title)
- Introduction

4–5. Literature Review Highlights - Methods
7–8. Results (charts, findings) - Conclusion & Recommendations
- References (APA format)
