At this point in the course, you can identify the different members of a sports medicine team and the roles they play in terms of athlete care. You have also had an opportunity to dive into the business side and oversight of sports medicine programs within a sports organization.
In this assignment, you will use the knowledge acquired from both viewpoints to determine the sports medicine program's 5-year budget and the timeline for implementation for the New Orleans Krewe. Developing a sports medicine team with unlimited funding would be an easy task. However, we know that in reality, unlimited funding does not exist. So, the challenge is to determine how to build and develop a sports medicine team within budget constraints.
The starting budget for the New Orleans Krewe sports medicine program is $1,750,000. The budget will increase by 5% each year.
In the 5-year plan for budget and timeline, you will provide a budget spreadsheet outlining sports medicine staff, program costs, etc. You will also include a timeline that shows how you will phase in members of the sports medicine team and programs this must include an explanation for staffing and programmatic decisions made each year.
