Health & Medical Question

Overview

As a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and private insurance exchanges, there are fewer people uninsured in the U.S. now compared to 2010. In 2022, the national uninsured rate reached a new low of only 8% of the population (HHS, 2022). In addition, under the ACA, 39 states have expanded Medicaid coverage to nearly all adults up to 138% of the federal poverty level (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2024).

Assume you are the administrator of a health care organization that accepts Medicaid as a payor, but in a state that has not expanded Medicaid coverage. Recent Medicaid policies and discounting have contributed to the organization’s failing bottom line. Many of your clients are on Medicaid or uninsured. You have been asked to prepare an analysis report to present to the board of directors detailing how Medicaid discounting causes hardships on your organization’s finances and the health of populations you serve.

Write an 1000 -word analysis report that showcases the financial issues and lack of services for your local population’s health.

Include the following in your analysis report:

1. Identify the type of facility you are leading.

2. Identify the population your facility is serving.

3. Explain specific cuts that Medicaid has made in recent years and its impact on your local community.

4. Describe how Medicaid discounting causes hardships in your organization.

5. Evaluate the impact of federal or state health care policies on consumers’ costs. Explore both positive and negative effects.

6. Propose changes to help decrease the deficit financially.

7. Recommend actions the organization should take to continue servicing the health care needs of various populations.

Everything is provided to write the paper. Answer the way the question is asking from 1- 7 which includes all of the details it requires and make sure it's neat and organized, so it's easy to follow.

Do not use AI to write this paper. Cite 6 reputable sources to support your assessment (e.g., trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).

  1. Always start with the author(s), followed by the year in parenthesis, followed by the title, and then the doi or URL site information.
  2. If the article is from a website and does not have any specific author, use the agency, fully spelled out, as the author. For example, see below for a correction to reference #5 on your list:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (2021). United States cancer statistics: Incidence public information data. https://wonder.cdc.gov/wonder/help/cancer-v2021.html

  1. For the title, no quotation marks are required and it should be written sentence-style---meaning, only the first word and any proper nouns are capitalized.
  2. Italics should be used for the article if it is from a website. If the title is that of a book, it should also be italicized.
  3. The journal title should be fully spelled out and italicized with all major words capitalized, followed by the volume number, also italicized.
