- Research hospitals in your area( my area is around Asheville NC) to determine if they are part of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). Continue your research until you identify a local or nearby hospital that is ACO-affiliated. As part of your assignment, include details about the hospitals you researched that are not affiliated with an ACO. You may conclude your research once you have confirmed an ACO-affiliated hospital in your area.
- If your local hospital is not part of an ACO, expand your research to include hospitals in neighboring cities, counties, or even other states until you find one that is ACO-affiliated.
- Gather information about:
- Advantages and disadvantages of ACOs for patients.
- How ACO affiliation is communicated to the local community (e.g., marketing efforts, outreach programs).
