Overview
For this case study you will prepare a five-minute Echo 360 video presentation, with visual aid (PPT), that describes the differences between management and leadership, outlines the key competencies that each should possess in order to be effective, and discuss why having the "soft skills' is necessary for success. In conducting and gathering your research information, provide a reflection on whether you see yourself as more of a "manager" or a "leader" and describe what traits you believe yourself to have and why those are important factors in your decision.
For this case study you will prepare a video presentation with a visual aid (e.g., PowerPoint) that meets the following criteria:
- Is approximately 5 minutes long (no need to run over)
- Describes the differences between management and leadership
- Outlines the key competencies that managers and leaders should possess in order to be effective
- This explains why having "soft skills' is necessary for success.
- Contains references to at least 2 sources
- You may use your textbook for one of your sources
- The supplemental resources Module 1 in the module may also be useful, but I encourage you to expand your search to resources outside of what you have already explored
- References should be provided in APA format at the end of your presentation slides and must be used in a citation in the presentation.
To conclude your presentation, reflect on the information you have absorbed throughout this module and the research you have done:
- Do your see yourself as more of a "manager" or a leader?
- Describe what traits you believe yourself to have and why those are important factors in your decision.
For the audience of this presentation, you should assume that this presentation is being given at the "full department meeting".
Your video does not have to be flawless, but it should be a relatively high-production value. You should not have any extended pauses or stops and starts. You may edit your recording prior to uploading.
