For this discussion, respond to either posting A or B, depending on the one that best aligns with your current experience:
A. Under Current BCBA Supervision (or another credential by the BACB, such as RBT, BCaBA)
Discuss your current supervision experiences in the field, being sure to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with regard to people and locations. After reviewing the readings for this week, evaluate your current supervisory experience by outlining how each of the practice guidelines presented by Sellers, et al. (2016) in "Recommended Practices for Individual Supervision of Aspiring Behavior Analysts" is evident in your supervision. Based on your evaluation, determine which elements of your supervision experience might be made more effective towards building your skills as a BCBA, and discuss some ideas for implementing strategies towards meeting that goal from both a trainee and a supervisor perspective.
B. Other Supervisory Experiences (work, internship, etc.) From a Different Field
Discuss prior or current supervision experiences that you have been a part of, from either a trainee's or supervisor's position. Consider those experiences and evaluate them according to whether they have been effective supervision practices, implemented as they are outlined in the readings. Based on your evaluation, determine which elements of your supervision experience may have been more effective towards building the trainee's performance, and discuss some ideas for implementing strategies towards meeting that goal from both a supervisor and trainee perspective.
