Instructions:
Develop a health informatics public service announcement (PSA) so individuals can make informed decisions, actively participate in managing their personal health information, and protect their security rights. This PSA should promote a better understanding of the legal requirements and responsibilities surrounding PHRs, ensuring that individuals can navigate the landscape of electronic health records effectively.
Your PSA presentation should begin with the vision or mission and should include why the health system is publishing this announcement, who you are looking to inspire, why this message should be important to the audience, etc. The PSA must and cover the following six key areas:
- Vigilance and Confidentiality: Explain the importance of awareness and confidentiality regarding personal health information.
- Data Security and Protection: Emphasize the measures in place to safeguard PHRs, including encryption, secure storage, and access controls.
- Access and Ownership: Educate your audience about their rights and options regarding access to their PHRs.
- Maintenance and Accuracy: Emphasize the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date PHRs.
- Legal Requirements and Rights: Provide an overview of legal requirements and rights associated with PHRs.
- Risks and Best Practices: Educate consumers about potential risks associated with PHRs, such as the importance of protecting login credentials, being cautious with sharing information online, and recognizing and reporting suspicious activities or potential breaches.
Requirements:
- Your PSA should be 10 content presentation slides and be in your own words.
- You should include at least five peer-reviewed sources.
- Your presentation slides should be in APA format.
